Neighborhood and Recreational Enhancement Program Public Meeting Notice

A great opportunity for residents and river users to provide ideas about the Trinity River greenbelt

Proposed Meeting Date Location: February 19 at 6:00 pm
Rose Room at the Botanic Gardens

The purpose of the Trinity River Vision (TRV) Neighborhood and Recreational Enhancement Program (NREP) is to identify and prioritize ways to connect people and neighborhoods to the Trinity River greenbelt. Since the completion of the Trinity River Vision Master Plan in 2002, there have been numerous improvements to the Trinity River greenbelt such as the White Settlement and Riverside Trailheads, the Trinity Park loop, the trail extension to Gateway Park, and the canoe/kayak chutes on the Clear Fork. However your input is needed to prioritize and conceptually design many other recreation projects and neighborhood connections identified in the TRV Master Plan. This planning process will result in a ten year action plan for project funding and implementation.

The purpose of this public meeting is review comments and ideas received in the past seven meetings. Examples of issues to be reviewed will include discussions of better trail linkages to neighborhoods, trail extensions, improved signs and information systems, additional trailhead locations, recreation facilities, beautification, environmental preservation ideas and others. Everyone is encouraged to attend and express their views and suggestions.

A brief overview of the current Trinity River Vision Program and the current state of the river corridor will be given. Attendees will be expected to ask questions and give input during the session. Staff from the TRV partner organizations and representatives of the consultants will be there to take notes and encourage involvement.

The public meetings will be held in a wheelchair-accessible location. Any persons requiring language translation or other special communication accommodations should contact LComm Marketing & Public Relations at 817-737-8388 and organizers will do our best to accommodate citizens’ needs.

Please email info@trinityrivervision.com with any questions or ideas, and feel free to fill out our questionnaire so we can know what connections and recreation improvements you would like to see on the river.
